It is in the index allowing brokers, institutions etc to buy & also buy as part of an ETF. It is also used to measure the index, ie. ASX200 companies for ASX200 & MSCI global micro caps companies for MSCI global micro cap index.
ETF's would buy millions of DW8 shares if they decided to include DW8 in their investment. They would most likely accumulate over a few weeks/months. MSCI will most likely be adding some as well.
It will be a gradual rise over time & you will not see the price spike. If anything may see some accumulation games going on.
