With Vivino listings not getting higher than 40 skus since go live, I do wonder what the thinking of the wineries is that is causing them not to list.
Most have cellar doors, so are used to selling wine direct. The listing process appears to be seamless, winedepot manages distribution, and direct-to-consumer is their most profitable channel to sell via by a big margin, so to me at least it seems like a no-brainer to have another channel to sell into.
So it begs the question, why such a slow take up? Is it existing contracts, uncertainty, used to selling via resellers they don't know how to start, all of the above?
Genuine question from a LTH.
On a side note - I bought 2x Sorby Adams to celebrate the vivino launch. summary = couriers please suck, took 2 weeks (up to sunshine coast) and had zero communication (couldn't even get their tracking details correct)....it validated the acquisition of Partons even more for me. Own the infrastructure and the network and windepot will become unbeatable.
