Baralaba is just a little hobby mine. I doubt it was ever ascribed more than a few cents to the SP, so the mine could disappear tomorrow and there would be no major impact on the SP.

As evidenced by the fact when the mine first flooded the SP didn't move, it's only declining now when the mine is back digging again.

As the last newsletter explained, they're targeting the eastern syncline while waiting to dewater the main pit, and that this eastern syncline has 12 months supply of coal in it, so Baralaba is back up and running.

Recent price weakness is IMO nothing more than the general malaise in spec stocks, perhaps with a bit of carbon tax scaremongering thrown in. Looking at my portfolio COK is doing no worse than most of my other speccies.

bazza, there is a protest movement against Sutton Forest but that's just one of COK's mines. Most of COK's mines are in the Surat Basin in Qld and just waiting on rail and port access.
