I find the initial post quite misleading to be honest. Stating that BLG have 50% cells because that is the theoretical limit of a technology they only just started investigating is blatant misrepresentation of the article. Even they have the honesty to say if we can do this in reality.
No idea what DYEs "theoretical" maximum is, but you can be sure it is well above the 12% they get at the moment.
My understanding of the indium based cells, though Ive only previously read up on CIGS, is that their materials are fairly exotic and toxic, for now ill take the articles word for it that their cells are environmentally sound, but they are also filling our landfill with mercury with their fancy light bulbs, so who knows.
