Not sure how DYE will commercialise this product line or even whether how widely they will be allowed to sell such products.
I suspect that these panels are pretty much direct competition to the panels that g24i seem to be producing, and the fabric that g24i's big brother, Konarka, are working on. Presumably DYE will subcontract out the production process, but surely not to either g24i or Konarka. Then if they want to sell to other than the local Defence Dept they would need a sales and service network (?).
Also I wonder if Defence would allow these products to be for sale at Army surplus shops (do they still exist?) and even to possible baddies.
Also even if Deence give it a tick perhaps it is standard for them to procrastinate for a couple of decades to allow for cost blow-outs and technological obselesence to develop.
Basically, no idea of the connotations of this announcement. Someone please enlighten me. :)
