    With respect as a fellow farmer I can tell you that farmers have always been forced off the land.
    Were you around in the late 80's when farms were taken back by the Banks left, right and centre. Interest rates of 22% didn't leave more room for things to go wrong.
    I remember an older couple at Bogan Gate where the Banks were moving in and the neighbours went in and collected a lot of equipment which they hid and sold on their behalf at a later date to give them a bit of money to move on with.
    Assistance to farmers has improved to a great extent including mental health help. It's a business and sometimes they fail. Is it fair? Probably not but often they fail because of stupid decisions and racking up a lot of debt.
    Anyone who has held on should get a decent payday at the end of this year hopefully.
