Dynamite fisher loses both hands
ONE of two suspected dynamite fishers in Sibuco, Zamboanga del Norte lost both his hands when the dynamite he was holding accidentally went off the other day, police said yesterday.
Saidi Jikiri Musa,21, a resident of Sitio Boton, Barangay Poblacion in Sibuco town also sustained serious body injures and was taken to the Zamboanga City Medical Center for treatment.
Doctors were forced to amputate both of their hands for fear of gangrene.
An investigation showed that the victim and three others were on their way to Sitio Puliran in Bgy. Nasal aboard a motorized pumpboat when the dynamite Musa was carrying went off.
The case is still being investigated, said Police Regional Office 9 director, Chief Superintendent Prospero C. Noble Jr.
