"Because its our core-business!"
Shell Oil-core business is oil I would think.
Currently they are buying natural gas properties. and they are now as big(bigger?) in NG as in oil.
Exxon Mobile, an oil company just spent billions buying a NG company.
They both realized their core business is energy. And are transitioning away from oil which is becoming harder to find.
Western Union Telegraph was offered the telephone by Bell. they turned it down because it wasn't their core business.
They missed the boat. Because they didn't realize their core business was really communications. And they screwed up badly.
And if this is such a good deal for us we can have the same or better deal set up but sold to highest bidder. If Nick is the highest bidder I will live with that and I think many of us will. How about you Arafura Investor?
Full disclosure: My position on Lynas has changed . I have sold some today. And I will be selling more if this insider deal goes through.
