The funds' quarterly updates for the June, September and Dec quarters, were issued on 3 August, 14 Nov and 10 Feb respectively. By 15 May we should get the quarterly update for the March 23 quarter. (The annual reports are due by 31 May.) I HOPE that this update will disclose distributions of cash by the LPs during the March quarter TO their members, including funds CD1, 2 and 3. (We may of course be unlucky and the cash transfers may be zero). If they do so, there is a fair chance that in May or June the funds will make some distributions to unitholders, although this can't be certain.

The following info from the Dec quarter may-or may not!- be a guide of what to expect. On 1 Feb 23, CD1/2/3 announced distributions of 8c, 6c and 11c respectively to unitholders, to be paid on 3/3/23. These were in total A$2.93m, A$3.15m, and A$7.9m, equivalent to about US$ 2.1m, US$2.2m and US$ 5.6m. The 3 March distributions by the funds paid out exactly the amounts received by the funds in the December quarter from LP1 and LP2, but somewhat less than CD3’s inflow from LP3 (US$2.1m, 2.2m and 7.1m respectively).

NB that to avoid the funds themselves being taxable, the funds must distribute all their “taxable income” for the year ending 30 June 2023 to unitholders, but not necessarily before 30 June. As above, I HOPE that the funds will soon announce distributions to unitholders based on what cash the funds received from their LPs during the March quarter, and then after 30 June- when they have worked out the tax position- make a further distribution inabout August but in respect of the period to 30 June.
