Chilean miner SQM opened the Mount Holland lithium mine and concentrator through its joint venture, Covalent Lithium, owned in a 50–50 partnership with Wesfarmers.
SQM chief executive Ricardo Ramos said Australia was “the next bowl of lithium production” at the opening on Thursday.
“We have a very good team in Australia looking for high-quality projects, and we think we will find opportunities in the future, and we will wait until we have those opportunities.”
The board will want to find something here and then do another Azure deal with SQM. It worries me that they didnt take the chance and buy up all the surrounding leases if they are that interested in building a lithium empire.
The last thing we want is an early consolidation. Always ends up in massive erosion of the SP. After the last consolidation of FNT my shares ended up owing me $4.20 each and eroded down to 0.03c. I have had to double down continuously since to get to 4c will shortly invest more. Not a happy place but in to deep to write it off now.
