that initial kennedy well, which was named after the landowner, an aunt of a good friend of mine in karnes county, was drilled as a chalks completion, and it ended up a little too deep in the toe, so by chance they lucked out and the group decided on a mini frac in the tail of the well to prove the shale was able to flow, which it did..
rest was history..
by the way did you know karnes county is now the highest oil producing region in texas today..??
