DaveMc Peter Van Onselen was saying much the same on The Contrarians on Skynews yesterday. Although he didn't go as far as the early election bit.

It seems that many of the the Labor caucus are not happy with the latest desperate ploy by Conroy. This must be backed by Gillard. I can't help feeling that it maybe tied up in some devious way with the AWU investigation schedule. But I may be wrong.

Gillard will not go without a bloody struggle. She could well call an early election to through Rudd and his supporters off guard.

Of course Rudd will be in a difficult position if he only secures a bare majority (supposing a vote is taken). How can he run an effective election campaign with many of his colleagues hating him so much.
