Thank you for highlighting this issue. To avoid the chance that any donations I make don't support this sort of sleaze, I look carefully at the expense ratio of any charity I support, avoid the begging desks in shopping centres, and donate directly. Had a friend who worked in a clerical position for a while in a charity many years ago, her estimate was that 90% went on admin. Any money that made it thru to the cause seemed almost an accident.
