Yes and no.

I've held some stock for several years, but will trade on the ups and downs of the SP. Generally those that I invest in are companies that I think will own for sometime.

Tech stocks are a little different, I like small caps because of the growth potential but tend not to own long term because the owners/management I invest in are often brought out. I currently own two tech stocks APX and BIG. The continued presence of the founders and profile of share ownership was, and still is, significant in my reasons for investing. ( I've also done very well over the past two years)

I get concerned when the insto's and their bots start to be a regular feature in trading. Their use of bots to manipulate prices down so they can accumulate at low cost often at the expense of retail investors pisses me off
