Earnings from continuing operations rose to 48 cents a share from 19 cents. Revenue increased to $1.15 billion from $945 million. Gold sales in the quarter totaled 1.8 million ounces. The miner forecast 2006 gold sales of 7.7 million to 7.9 million ounces. On Wednesday the company's stock rose 2.7% to $58.43
