True, cheap energy has given us the greatest advancement in living standards in history. Stupid urban greenies don't understand how tough life was, a continual grind. They want to send us back there. I don't know how many of them really would survive a true low carbon world, but they seem to like to fantasise about it a lot. The other truly great invention (besides the internet) was the car. The greatest liberation of the ordinary person ever. Ordinary people were free and able to go where they wanted, not just where the buses and trains ran to. It also gave us greater bargaining power with employers as we weren't confined to nearby jobs but could go to the other side of the city if a job was better paying.We had freedom to go where we wanted when we wanted. Is that why greenies seem to hate cars(except when they use them)?
