Earth Hour.......I'm sure The Earth really appreciates these shallow gestures,when for the rest of the year it gets abused. How about Earth Year....
The Earth Hour caper reminds me of a Leunig cartoon, in the paper,soon after the Walk the Sydney Harbour Bridge for Reconciliation.
Next to a picture of people coming off the bridge was a depiction of the masses stopped in their tracks,staring at a pile of dung,with the caption below.."Walking through shit for Reconciliation.....It's easy to do the easy things,but don't ask people to suffer personally for a cause. It's too inconvenient.
