That is my understanding providing the diagrams and explanations are logical an actual device is not needed for mechanical devices but there has to be novelty , I am guessing the same applies for electronic devices as with AKP .
Sometimes what is considered the benefit of the patent has to be changed to a different benefit , if an existing patent has that previous benefit .
