Something that has always stuck with me is oculus, the first vr headset.

sony had declared it couldnt be done. I think it was a 20 year old kid, decided it could be done and built a prototype in his garage. Ever since then I've wondered how much truly impressive innovation hasnt taken place because employees don't have the desire, or the financial motivation to execute on their ideas.
