Frequent tremors mean that the fault lines in the crust are adjusting regularly, reducing (not necessarely eliminating) the risk of a major quake.
Haven't been in Chile but got quite used to it in the southern Philippines.
Now I live just outside the cone of an old vulcano in Central Highlands, Victoria. No tremors or quakes here.
