Towie may have a point.
Perhaps with a federal election looming,
we are getting a bit 'hair-triggered'.
Speaking of hair-triggered:
Howard and Rudd sure got stuck into
each other yesterday in Question Time.
Race has been a touchy issue in Aussie politics
ever since Pauline Hanson based 'One Nation' on
it and stole votes from the Libs, Nats and Labor.
That would not have been a problem if
Beazley and Howard had not held an
obscene pre-election auction to claw
back voters by trying to out-Hanson
Hanson at being nasty to migrants,
Aboriginal people, Asians and
people who are 'not like us'.
I lived through the 1950s once
and I'm not keen on being
dragged back there cos
that's where a leader
who shall remain
nameless feels
relaxed and
comfortable.
