Earthquake, page-18

The Philippines is pretty bad for earthquakes. Back in 1997-2001 we were living in the Renaissance 2000 condo in Pasig City on the 28th floor. In the middle of the night my wife and I both woke up to feel the whole building swaying and the bottom of the vertical blinds swaying about half a meter or so. It's a wierd feeling being up so high and wondering if what we were feeling was the building in the process of falling over. After jumping out of bed we were a bit disoriented for about a minute or so. We put on some robes and got down to the ground floor asap. Found out the next day it was 6.8 but I'm not sure how far away.

My wife tells me stories about huge gaps opening up in the road up in northern Luzon when she was a kid.
