    These aircraft are put through rigorous stress testing during the design and certification stages. Although there may now be a few design faults emerging, it is not time to panic about the cracks that have been found IMO. At this stage they are minor but will need attention. You would be very surprised at what stresses are needed to actually snap a wing off. Very, very unlikely, even in very bad turbulence or the like.

    As for the noises, could have been the noise wheels at times after rotation due to speed, wind, runway condition etc... Could possibly have been just the normal stresses that such a large beast goes through under full fuel load. Anything major or out of the ordinary would have been alluded to through the systems on the flight deck.

    Bring on your thought DBL! We need a good engineers input here.
