GDP growing at 3% p.a, that is, the economy expanding at the rate of 3% p. a. With all else being the same, then one has to conclude that for that to be possible the money supply has to be growing at the same rate. It worked like this everywhere in the world and at all times including when BRITAIN WAS UNDER THE GOLD STANDARD, a time when the Bank of England was buying extra gold with money freshly printed. HOW ELSE COULD THEY BUY IT. YOU CANNOT BUY GOLD WITH GOLD, IT SIMPLY DOES NOT MAKE SENSE.
