    Firstly "Permabears think it’s-200k below reserve. Must be printing mistake or fake news, must be". Please explain how it's possible to sell below reserve. I'll wait.

    Secondly please explain how a single property selling above reserve is indicative of literally anything to the property market.
    You could just as easily interpret this to say that this just means the sellers set the reserve too low because they're desperate to sell the house while they can.
    If they had set reserve at $1.7M for example then the headline would say "House sells at $1M above reserve". Does the fact that it was ONLY $200k above reserve mean that house prices are crashing? Or is it a meaningless article spun up to maintain a "business as normal" facade?
    "I'm sure we could all at least agree that prices wont be going up for a bit..." Evidently not. Even the permabulls on PropertyChat agree they're in for hard times, but not so at Hotcopper. House prices can't fall you see.
