Trees, since you bought up this little gem, I think that RMI should relocate those LBE's for their own protection!
What a wonderful gesture of heart-felt mining company commitment to responsible management regarding local sustainability, ecology and wildlife preservation if RMI can save those poor echidnas from being hunted down and eaten by ferocious dogs and hungry locals.
This is not a potential obstacle, its a godsend for the LBE's surely? lol :-)
