Many posts have been made since your post so I may be repeating, but my understanding is that any offer to buy a company, other than my frivalous "tell 'im he's dreamin' " $1 offer, must be forwarded to the Board. Management can't sit on them. So DC's comments on offers will be considered by the Board is normal practice.

Also remember that old hands like Dennis Morton et al, hold a lot of the company and they are not the types to be legged over. I'm quite sure these big holders have had a few Chinese lunches amongst themselves and have a pretty good idea what they all want, and that is likely not a big secret to DC.
