    As I understand it the "Grain Fed Beef " in Australian Feedlots are first raised as weaners
    grass fed for about 8 months until approx 490 -505 Kg Live weight
    transferred to the feedlot where the "grain" they are fed is milled into a meal - (it is no whole wheat triticale oats barley)
    appropriately balanced with essential elements/ protein content etc.

    Whilst grass fed they are vaccinated with five in one vaccine and provided appproriate trace elements such as copper/cobalt and vitamins essentially reared as very healthy animals prior to entering the feedlot.
    I would suggest from my observations in general these cattle would be more likely to be healthy and had a good life during that period than random small acreage 'farmers' who are most likely to have a paucity of knowledge on bovine health.
