its either put the prices up or cop the fees. someone has to pay for it at the end of the day its either the merchant or the customer.
in my industry i did not see an increase in basket size / conversions. in my industry unless you are a trade, there is minimal repeat business. alot of customers might be rennovating or doing a project and buying items once off and just need BNPL to stretch their budgets further. i introduced it for trades to buy their goods, then pay over time as opposed to giving them 30 day accounts. well that was my thinking. instead i get owner builders or diy rennovators using it the most.... and very little trades.
