If you ever want something bad enough on ebay, you just hover around the site at the items closing time, and if you're willing to pay $10 for it (I'm disregarding postage), set your ceiling at $10.01, as most buyers seems to talk in round figures, and have set theirs at $10.00.
As has been explained, this $10.01, doesn't mean it automatically sets your bid at $10.01, as ebay bids on your behalf to what's necessary to get the item, obviously, only up to your ceiling.
