Tony and his team have overseen the share price rise from $1 to over $4 over the past couple of years.....to me, that is far more important than offering a cumbersome SPP

Retail investors have had plenty of time to get set under the $3.65 level offered for the placement.

Much prefer a quick placement that enables the deal to get done, than an SPP that hangs round for weeks and keeps the SP down with it.
