Epay intend on utilising Mobiepay. Buying Mobiepay was to pave the way for epay asia to not have to pay revenues to Euronet from subsequent countries they move into by using both the brand and technology of mobiepay (as Euronet own the brand "e-pay" and the "epay" technology )
Mobiepay also uses sms messaging rather than terminals-reducing costs (and I am guessing-correct me please if you know otherwise-taking away the need for on-sellers (petrol stations,shops etc and loosing part of profit in payment to these)
what has me puzzled is looking to take (only)40% of e-charge- I guess e-charge is to slide into the Indian market quickly with a recognizable name to the Indian consumers?Not too sure why only 40% though
Euronet own 40% of Epay Malaysia
Epay-Asia plans to move into India,China,Singapore,Vietnam and the Philippines and I suspect thus forward using the Mobiepay brand and technology (without paying profits to Euronet on the brand or technology of E-pay)
