SM makes a very interesting and valid point about OEM ownership of mines. He believes that big car manufacturers don't necessarily want to own the mines (for risk of having their name associated with such things as tailings disasters and the like) and are more likely to want to be shareholders in the mining companies. That does make far more sense... afterall, what do Volvo, for example, know about nickel mining or graphite processing or the like? So, yeah, whilst the OEMs need to have closer connections to their upstream supply, they wouldn't want to be the owners of the mines but rather the part owners of the mining operations (aka shareholders).

That is what AS alluded to with regards our Kwinana facility... that EGR would use the equity in that (once it is constructed) to finance subsequent facilities in Europe. I envisage the likes of Posco taking a stake in EGR in order to secure that supply which will then give use the funds to then finance the next operation. The recent developments in Tanz with regards to the push to expand the scale of our proposed operations there to include Merelani and downstream facility suggests that there is major interest to upscale it. Who is behind that?
