imo it's not really an issue, if you 'buy in december and sell in may'. come october and many small cap shares are really cheap!

the precious metal season is from september to feburary. imo reduce positions after february.

oil quite often is either trending up or trend down and it quite often runs for long periods. the trend is your friend.

imo hold shares only in sectors which are in favour. i would not hold shares in sectors which are out of favour!
