    Totally agree – the tug-of-war between States, Commonwealth, and even local councils when it comes to funding health really highlights how fragmented and inefficient the system can be. GST is one of the few areas that feels relatively straightforward, at least in theory. Like you said, it's predictable: you buy more, you pay more – though it’s more noticeable on high-value items.

    The issue gets even more complicated when you try to calculate the total tax burden or understand what you're really paying.

    I was diving into this recently while working on an Australian GST calculator to help people quickly break down prices with and without tax – and honestly, it's shocking how much gets layered on top depending on the service or product.

    Would love to see a broader push toward streamlining how taxes fund services like health, instead of this patchwork system we have now. It’s not just about fairness – it’s about clarity and accountability too.
