    Very useful paper. With high crop values, you get a higher return on using pesticides. Farmers/Agronomists can look at the value of the "would be" lost crop versus the cost of the pesticide (hopefully including cost of environmental/toxic effects as well). The same model would occur for stock feed, fertiliser etc, comparing the dollar cost against what amount of extra product you would miss out on if you don't use it, versus if you do. Obviously there are regulatory boundaries and GMO crops etc, and huge errors in predicting the future. The people selling the chemicals will probably overstate the benefits, but that will be a constant factor.

    I suspect it is a good time to be long NUF.
