I am not anti mining but there was no effort to diversify the economy while the going was good. Sure the govt monetized the tertiary sector and brought in a squillion students but I'd say the credibility of an Australian tertiary degree compared to what it was 30 years ago is massively diminished. I do think we're going to struggle going forward but I am not so sure ALP will make things worse.
