i think the answer to this is simple....the takeover was always a good thing for those shareholders with a short term investment view ( ie less than 6 months)
So basically there were more votes coming from ppl with short term view than longer term view (2+ years)
It is unfortunate that so many investors and money market managers have such a short term view these days, but unfortunately this is the culture that we now have these days i guess!
(certain quick term small gain vs less certain long term bigger gain)
Am I making sense?
i guess i am just a little disappointed that my own choice has been ultimately overidden by someone else.
