Are you sure they aren't currently importing?
The nine news article the company has linked on its own website from 11th Feb this year quotes Craig Cochran as saying Medcan are now ready to go into commercial production. The article then states that local production will commence in the next year?
There is also another article (not linked on Medcan website) from Courier Mail dated October 19th this year that says Craig Cochran is putting the finishing touches on their indoor, vertical cannabis farm.
The cash burn doesn't start until the indoor cultivation gets going in earnest.
