Quite legal and used heaps for large volume traded stocks ... often used by brokers when they are buying for one client from another - so the general market doesn't get a sniff when the trade goes through mid-point.
Also used to dump and buy outside of obvious liquidity.
I'd view that mid-point trade positively, but I'm surprised so may have dumped at 2.3 today - impatient?
A few more weeks until the Q. Fingers crossed.
