Third party litigation funding has grown fast in USA and is now starting to be seen in Australia and EU. They fund top legal teams if they see a good chance of an outcome & get a share of outcome payments. Moreover legal fees are usually an additional item announced in a court case decision.
AEE should put that on autopilot & hope for an early outcome. Otherwise, there will be an outcome even if it might take 10 years.
