Not sure if anyone else caught the presentation, if so please add your thoughts on key points?
Couple takeaways I took:
- COVID delays. COVID is bad. COVID is frustrating. Apparently 5 cancelled trips to Middle East but still anticipated to go ahead, still $100Million
- The initial "Gas Atomizer" to produce the Ti powder is being assembled in a new building added to the rear of their existing premises. The new building is big enough to fit 3 of the same size Atomizer (and this is a definite theme in their business model going forwards with multiple references made to expanding their powder production x5-10 fold in next 2-3 years). "Really important focus for us" (which confirms some of comments in this thread about the powder sales being a genuine money earner)
- Fletcher deal sounds close. Level of confidence sounds like "when", no "if" at all. Owens Corning was mentioned by name, and their current Global spend is $350Million on their existing Tooling/Spinners. Mentioned $4000 per unit (didn't specify USD or AUD) and the current unit lasts 4 days. AMaero solution to extend product life but no specifics of how big lifespan increase is. Regarding the $350Million, SD said "so its a huge opportunity for us"
- Boeing reference, particularly to the need to expand their El Segundo facility x10 fold to meet manufacturing requirements after qualification period completed
- Reference to their patented Ti-Sc metal is "20-25% stronger" but more importantly "x5 times more fatigue life". Specific reference to the Ti rivets used on aeroplanes and that fatigue life improvements is a multi-Billion market opportunity in rivets alone (I remember reading this exact benefit in the original Patent submisssion from 2016 - really significant weight savings identified in the Patent application)
- Reference to "Aerospace, Defence and Sattellite" part production currently underway (in addition to Gilmour Space confirmed contract). Presumably the part production is all as part of the long duration "qualification period" required in these industries/areas
