Eddie has brought this on himself by being over leveraged. Even so, I think the poor bloke deserves some sympathy... all of the goings on were certainly orchestrated to some degree.

Eddie comes across as the sort of person who will keep getting back up every time he gets knocked down, and he's in an excellent position to do so. The directors could quite easily put forward a case for a large number of performance based options with a strike price substantially above the current share price.

That would allow them to get a foot back in the door with multi-million dollar holdings again.
