EDE marketing strategy

    EDE with enough cash should be able to continue to mature their current marketing plans of going directly to the market.

    EDE may well look at a number of marketing strategies to accelerate their growth.

    The challenge will be to protect their proprietary IP from competitiors.

    Looking closely at the global chemical and concrete admixture companies the following observations can be made:

    1. Global admixture companies develop their own products and take to market.
    2. Global companies are looking at CNT technology.
    3. The global CNT reinforced polymer market is more advanced than CNT concrete industry.
    4.  There is fierce competition and massive maketing done by global players into the construction industry.
    5.  EDE are entering a massive market with very specialised and focussed products that will do well with the right channels to market.  
    6.  The CNT EDENPLAS market will take off and be as big as the EDENCRETE concrete business.

    Global admixture players:

    WR GRACE:  develop , produce and market a range of concrete admixtures, plasticisers, silica, STRUX polypropylene crack reducing fibre admixtures.  

    GRACE may be interested in talking to EDE but do develop their own products.

    BASF:   Develop their own products as per above , Have their own carbon reinforced polymer fibre additive :  MASTERFIBER. Not as strong as EDE.

    RPM INT:  Distribute many , many brands of coatings, polymers and concrete modifiers,  Have so many products would not focus on EDE.

    SIKA:  Have their own carbon fibre reinforced polymer slab systems:  CARBODUR.  and have done some work on carbon fibres in concrete. May be interested in talking to EDE but most likely develop their own products.  SIKA focus is mainly on carbon fibre reinforced polymers.

    FOSROC:   350 concrete admixtures, global company, have done some research into CNT in concrete, Very large global company...  Would look at EDE technology.

    MAPEI:   Australian and NZ normal, plasticizers, etc, admixture distributors,  possible.

    I think EDE are fiercely protecting their IP by going direct to market and developing a strong direct relationship with end-users.

    It appears that EDE are clearly focussed on developing the EDENCRETE and EDENPLAS as sellable solutions to the end-users.

    This way they maximise leverage they have over the product and maximise margins and control over the products and future directions.

    If EDE sell out or get into bed with a major player they will sign away all control.

    Having worked for a major global chemical company in R&D I understand how protective they are over IP and how much horsepower is put into in-house product development.

    I believe this year will see rapid growth and acceleration of maturity of EDENCRETE and EDENPLAS products in the end-user markets.

    Interesting times ahead.
