McBain would very likely have a lead due to here work as mayor of Bateman's Bay or wherever... she developed a higher profile because of this.
Take that away from McBain and its likely the Libs wold be in front...
I'll be watching the election results as they come in tomorrow night ;-)

PS personally I don't care who wins as both from-runners are party players and are bound by party rules to be loyal to the Party Gods rather than the electorate. I'll be looking to see how other candidates fare as an indicator of satisfaction with the party duopoly more than either party winning.
