Two years ago, EdenCrete was placed at the entrance to the Denver north plant for Metro-Mix. The EdenCrete slab was positioned in the exit lane so as to be in direct exposure to the tire path of every fully loaded concrete truck leaving the plant. Immediately adjacent, a Reference slab (CDOT Class D mix) containing 3 lb/cy dose of micro-fibers was placed in the entry lane so as to be in direct exposure to the tire path of every empty concrete truck returning to the plant. The Reference slab was allowed to cure for 5-days before opening to service, and the EdenCrete slab was given only 3-days to cure. The Reference slab was not intended to be subjected to the same level of extreme loading as the EdenCrete slab. After two years in service, the EdenCrete slab continues to demonstrate superior performance with regards to: -abrasion resistance -crack resistance -joint raveling -deicer scaling resistance Check out the increased level of damage shown by the Reference joint beyond that of the EdenCrete joint.
