In Golden, CO, 5-Star Construction used EdenCrete to repair thin sections of a multi-level, concrete parking facility. The surface of the parking deck is scaling significantly from deicer chemicals used on the road in winter conditions. Sections were only 1-1/2" thick and located on the top level of the facility, exposed to weather and movement from heavy vehicles who enter/exit. Metro-Mix specified EdenCrete to help control cracking and to improve the ability of the mix to be placed and finished. Their technical team optimized a concrete mix containing macro-fibers, known for its' crack resistant but challenging to place and finish. Instead, they used EdenCrete in combination with a much lower dosage of STRUX fibers. No water had to be added on site during the 120 minute placement. Newly placed sections were opened to driving and parking after only 24-hours in place, and blanketed with snow, slush, and deicer chemicals after only 48-hours in place. 3 weeks later the sections still look incredible, showing NO cracking! 5-Star Construction couldn't get over the improved cement paste during placement, allowing the fibers to be well embedded in the hardened concrete.
