Thanks for this smooge. This is a significant milestone for Eden and EdenCrete.

The statement that with EdenCrete, the concrete mix exceeded 4,000-psi in only 72-hours, without an added accelerator admixture, is very important.

Accelerator admixtures are used in concrete to speed the setting time. This is not only a time saver, it also allows concrete to be laid in winter, as the faster setting time reduces the risk of frost damage. It appears that when EdenCrete is used in the concrete mix, an accelerator admixture will no longer be required. This will mean a cost, as well as a significant time saving, apart from all the other advantages that EdenCrete brings with it, both up-front and over the lifetime of the project.

It is also highly encouraging that the concrete mix with EdenCrete was easier for the contractors to place and finish. Although we know this from other jobs, word of this will spread fast, as it should mean that contractors can lay the concrete mix with EdenCrete much faster. Perhaps a contractor may be able to do more jobs in a week than they currently do?

Finally, by using EdenCrete in the concrete mix, it is possible that the DOT's can simply use EdenCrete as their only admixture and therefore actually save money, as well as getting their roads and bridges into service sooner (which will also save them money). Reducing the inconvenience to the motoring public is also a major plus. There will also be an environmental advantage, due to the fact that motorists will spend much less time in traffic jams.
