Thank you for that level-heading clarification. Yeah thats pretty true. I should of said something on those lines.... and also if you are a really short term they can save you.

But at the same time stop losses are a double edge blade, especially if the stock you choose is in the middle if a bot-war. Which if you put a pure-price specific stop loss it can easily be tripped by said bots (you can always put on sell by volume/%). So for beginners its better to stear clear in general and get a better grasp of the inner workings before delving into such complexities.

Personally I don't have the foresight for such conditional orders.
