I don't know if this is the first time that SIR has been added to the ASX 200 (their website doesn't seem to bother with such releases), but I think it is.
The inclusion is effective from 15th March, after which ASX-200 index-tracking funds will need to be holding at least some SIR.
This would seem to suggest that there may be some significant net institutional buying between now and then.
And right now they might be asking themselves:
"What if this current discovery hole keeps going in sulphides for another 50m? What if the 3 rigs that have been mobilised to drill out the open lateral extensions and the rest of this big gravity high start hitting sulphides on all sides?"
"Should we be buying now, or should we wait a little longer at risk of payiing more?"
(Do not act on anything I say though. I am not a financial adviser and this is not financial advice)
